Salt and Light!

I can't think of a better way to start the weekend........A great song, beautiful pictures and some scripture too!

As a daughter of Christ my great desire is to be salt and light to a dark and decaying world.

Salt not only preserves and flavors whatever it touches, it also causes thirst. I want to live in a way that makes others thirst for the Living Water of Jesus Himself!

Light helps to see clearly, is a beacon, causes growth, gives warmth, illiminates darkness...I also want to live in a way that points others to the path of God's grace and mercy. Helping them to grow in Christ by being bright and warm!

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105

Make me salt, make me light.....I cannot make myself these things but nothing is impossible with God!

Enjoy........

I agree. This is a great way to start the weekend. Then Sings My Soul Saturday is probably my favorite meme. I look forward to it and the opportunity to worship. My favorite part in that song was - "I am not ashamed to lift up Your holy name."

I loved this! Thanks for joining in. My friend and I call making others thirsty for Him "sloshing out Jesus". It's like pouring a Coke over ice... when others see how refreshing it is... they want it too. We want them to want our Jesus just that bad :)

Good morning Kelley. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes, I am going to She Speaks and traveling out of KCI but I am going to the Friday day conference. When I picked my seesions, the ones God laid on my heart r/t women's ministry and not writing as I had intended. Talking to Lelia about sharing a room if she isn't with you but it will be great to meet you!!
We are with our youth in Branson for Young Christian Weekend. Pray for us, that they will see Jesus, we will keep up with them and this rain will go away!!! It's cold down here...ughhh!!
Talk later_

Your comments remind me of a T shirt they used to sell at youth events...how God is like...

GE--He brings great things to light;

Pepsi--He's the choice of a new generation!

(Okay, so that one probably dates me some...what is Pepsi's current slogan????)

Be blessed!

First.. I LOVE the song you shared. It is truly your testimony!

Now, I guess I failed to come back because I missed your "FFF" post. Your daughter is GORGEOUS! Her eyes are just BEAUTIFUL! Who does she get them from?

We ended up with 2 brown-eyed boys and neither of us have brown eyes. Link's are green and mine are blue. I prayed for those brown-eyed babies and the LORD granted me TWO of them! (Link's older sister has brown and my mom has brown)

Anyway... it's nice to see those sweet pics of your family. I'm glad you posted! ;-)

Have a GREAT weekend, my Friend!

GIRL, you are a HOOT! No worries.. I've done the same thing. I LOVE Susan's music on her blog.. I leave it up while I'm "blog hopping."

That song is one we've started singing at our Bible study. There are so few I can listen to without the tears flowing. It was new to us so there were no memories attached. I LOVE IT!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

LOVE YOU!
Tonya
