Becoming a Betty......

Although it was fun, I forgot how humiliating Memorial weekend can be.

No more sweat pants and long sleeves, but instead it is time to debut the shorts, sleeveless shirts, and worst of all bathing suits.....Something has got to be done about these extra pounds I am carrying around. I'd call it baby fat but the baby will be 6 yrs. old in July!

Since most of my life was spent looking more like Olive (no figure at all).....

I ask myself: why, oh why have I let things get like this? sniff, sniff (or should I say snort, snort?)

That does it! Tomorrow As of right now I am turning over a new leaf.

No more Miss Piggy for me.
By the end of the month I will be lookin a lot more like Betty Boop.......
OK OK, I would even settle for a more realistic Betty......

Either way, it is time to put my money where my mouth is (buying healthier food)!
And my mouth where my money is (the gym we pay for every month)!

Note: As I gave my girls a kiss goodnight Cece said, "You smell really good Mom; kind of like Pork." (we grilled chops for dinner).

I rest my case.....

Pork is nice...and our husbands like it, too! If we could only bottle it up... hee hee! Just kidding.

Kelley, do you have family here in Colorado? I believe your twin goes to my church...she's just as pretty as you. :o)

Have a blessed week!

LOL! Okay, your kiddo's comment was hilarious! It is so easy to let things slide and the pounds creep up. Good to catch it early before it is a big problem. Even though I am a vegan...I can eat more of the "vegan foods" and let a few pounds get added on than should be there, and I think I have! So it is back to my RAW vegan diet for awhile and on the old band wagon myself!

Kelley....I love your sense of humour!

Cheering you on. I think you look wonderful, but if you feel like you need to get in shape, then I'm encouraging you.

With God NOTHING is impossible!

Running the race with you,
Joy

I'm with you, girl! I'm trying to do the exact same thing!

I just visited Karen Ehman's site and she is posting all this week on how she lost 100 lbs. in 10 months. WOW! She might offer some insight on how to rely on God through those moments that we would rather eat and sit on the couch than drink a glass of water and go for a walk!

And I agree with Joy...you look wonderful! But eating healthier and exercising can't hurt any of us!

Prayers and Blessings!
Rebecca

At least pork is a protein. She could have said something like, "Yum, you smell like chocolate."

Exercise always works for me. I'm nursing right now, which means my normal stick figure has all kinds of bumps and curves I'm not used to. Exercise is slowly starting to change my shape back into something recognizable.

That's great. Pork smells better than Covet doesn't it? lol...
I will join you in this. I have the mindset that I can pig out until my running clinic starts next Wednesday night. I need to start eating healthy NOW! Thanks for the boost my friend. We will NOT weigh the plane down in June!!!
Love ya,

You crack me up. I too, have allowed way too many pounds to find their way to my hips and middle... I have got to do something. But... as long as I just sit and talk about it... it won't happen. Maybe I should get off the computer and go for a walk. LOL!

Thanks for sharing, Lynn

Oh my, smelling like pork.

From all the pics I've seen, I'd love to be your size and figure! I could stand to lose 10-15 pounds to be comfortable in my skin. I've lost some weight by my location of "fat" is not where I want...it's all in the behind!!!! and thighs.

The last photo you posted at a school function...you looked GREAT!

Is there any woman who is satisfied with her weight looks? I was pondering on that the other day. Many people would say I am thin but then women thinner than me (like you I suspect) I would say looks good but they would say they need to be thinner.

Go figure!
Why don't men struggle with this? Is it a curse of Eve too?
Love,
Paula

Hi Kelley, I am reading Karen Ehman's blog too about how she lost 100 lbs. If you get a chance check it out...very inspiring! If she can lose 100, I should be able to lose 20. Summer is almost here and I just want to be slim and healthy for me. I think it is easy to not pay attention and let the pounds creep up. I so need to really be motivated, I am turning 50 in another week and I thought that would do it, but it hasn't. I am like you where I was an Olive for years but the 40's hit and it all changed fast!
PS Thanks for leaving a nice comment on my blog..it's nice to meet another "Kelley" and a Labrador lover too!

You can do it. I have been on a detox for the past 16 days. I have lost 15 pounds. It was a great kick start to a new me. I am eating better, exercising more, and I like the results. I feel a ton better. Your kids love you just the way you are though. So enjoy every single minute.
Stop my and say hi.

Mom I am really sorry for saying that to you and it is pretty funny and I also said that you smelt like your perfume you know the green kind that we got you for Christmas. Any way all I wanted to tell you was what you smelt like and you are like really skinny so don't call yourself fat. And I didn't know that pork was pig so sorry if I hurt your feelings but I thought it was pretty fun for what I said cause Sophie is normally the funny one.
