Something is coming between me and my "best friend".......
FUR!
This beautiful golden-furred girl is leaving part of herself on everything she touches. Actually she doesn't even have to touch it, the fur just finds it. The carpet, the clothes, the tables, the hardwoods....I'm beginning to understand why they call it "fur"niture.
I know she can't help it. It is probably a great embarrassment to her so I try not to mention it around her. Unlike the kids who just carelessly yell out, "THIS IS GROSS, THERE IS DOG HAIR EVERYWHERE!"
Well I recently learned about a product called the "FURMINATOR" (I apologize if this conjures up images of Arnold Schwarzenegger badly in need of a back wax!! EEWWW!). It is actually a "deshedding tool" recommended by dog groomers.
I first saw one of these at the local Pet Store where it seemed a bit pricey for a "dog brush". However I was able to find it on Amazon.com for a lot less, and best of all it had a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars! Well that's about all it takes to "sell" me on something~~a discount and positive consumer rating!
So we are waiting for delivery of our very own "Furminator". Meanwhile I am shaving the floors and waxing the "fur"niture. PLEASE hurry Mr. Postman........
What is the best job I've ever had?

We have one of those and they are great. You will love it!
And I thought yesterday's you tube was funny! Kelley, those videos are hilarious!! Good luck with your "hairy" problem!
Don't forget, when you have a second--ha!!--to let me know about your blogging designer business.
Thanks!
Blessings,
Susan
You will love the Furminator! We have one and it's perfect! I bought mine on ebay as they were very expensive in the stores and I got a much better deal!
Congratulations. Isn't it swell to find a new and exciting product...that actually does what it says.
Yay!
"...so I try not to mention it around her..." Ha! I can just see her cringing with embarrassement over her dilemmea. :)
Oh..can't wait until we get reports on this new gadget. I know what you mean by dog hair everywhere. While cleaning our ceiling fans....we discovered dog hair. Ceiling fans?!? So, maybe we need to get one of those things too. My blog needs a make over bad. I was in the queue for someone to redo mine...and that was 3 months ago..I think it's safe enough to look for someone else. Let me know.
As always, thanks for sharing.
What a sweet furbaby! My hubby and I are thinking about getting a Golden Retreiver when our son heads off to school in September. Sounds like we're going to need a Furminator! (Thanks for the tip!) The video is hilarious! Happy weekend!
Blessings,
Tracy = )
Okay that was hilarious...and I KNOW only TOO well about the fur. I have a dog that looks almost exactly like yours...a yellow lab and I also have a second dog that could be part wolf... and Akita white shepherd mix...and he has double the amount of fur and loses double the amount. LOL! Thanks for the chuckle. Hugs to you.
I LOVED that video! I hope you love your new toy! We had a golden retriever and they sure do shed! I can relate! :) You are just SO cool, girlfriend!
Love,
Angie xoxo
Good morning Kelley,
Starting my day out with a cup of Joe and my fix of Aroma of JOY. ;)
I too can relate to your hairy friend being an embarrassment. I have 3 friends that come inside and gross us out. I hope your groomin tool works. I have pembroke corgi's and their coat is so thick that when I bathe them, I can hardly get water/soap to their skin. They are like a duck! So we shave them! Really! They LOVE to go to the beauty parlor, and come home shaved, shampooed, new bandanna, manicures, and pedicures- They act like they are beautiful, and feel so good you can't keep your hands off them! It's a win all the way around! I've never had a pedicure but my dogs have! Sick huh?
Have a great saturday-
Lea
<*)))><
Oh, that was just PRECIOUS!!!!
Hey, I wonder if I can use that on my cat???
I think your best friend is one handsome young dog!!
Been thinking of you Kelly. Hope things are going well for you.
Blessings to you my sweet friend♥
LOVE the video! I'm so anxious to hear how the tool works out. Keep us posted. Literally.
STOP IT...you are stinkin' killing me with the "FUR"minator...ha!!! That's just awesome...we are a kitty cat family (although my oldest has just asked that we "consider" a siberian husky).
Praying your package gets here f-a-s-t!
That video is hilarious!!! Love the pic of your dog. Aaron is going to leave meeting her tomorrow!
I'll have to be getting one of these for Kane.
Hey there sweet Kelley!
I apologize for taking forever to visit your blog!!!! This is great! June, as you know was wild and wooly but July is a bit slower.
My brother had a cat named Phil that LOVED the vacuum. Whenever it was turned on he would nuzzle up to the hose and roll over. They would run it up and down his furry little body.
Maybe your furball would like it too!
Wish I could hug your neck, I miss you!
Love you bunches, Luann
LOL! Where do you find these "super cool" videos? Bwahahahaha! I love it. We don't have the Fur issue as poodles don't shed, but I feel sorry for those that do have this problem. Hope the Furminator helps. Let me know, because I'm trying to talk the spouse into a cat; however, he digresses over the Fur issue. This could give me a leg to stand on!
What an adorable dog you have and I hope your new furminator works well. The clip was funny too.
Sounds ingenius! Since I have been on bed rest for over two weeks now, our house as more dog hair than ever too.
My family is really working hard, but they don't do all the "cleaning" that a mom would do.:)
Can't wait to see when your package arrives.:)
Furminator? Ha I can't wait to read your post following the use of your new doggy product. The video was hilarious!
You're supercool, supercool!
Krista
I'll be very anxious to hear your reviews. We have a Golden Retriever and she leaves hair 'tumble-weeds'. So gross. Hair flies off of her as she walks.
We've had to confine her to one area of the house so that we are not getting dog hair in unwanted places.
Love the dog - but not the hair.
