TSMS~~Unanswered Prayers!!

Yesterday I wrote about my kids and the funny things they have said. But then I got to thinking about what my Father (God) would write about me if He had a blog! I am sure He would chuckle as He told you about some of my prayers over the years!

Here is how my life might look if God had answered some of those prayers.........

This is what I would look like:

This is who I would have married:

This would be my career:

And because I prayed that I would have 14 children (I even had all of their names picked out), my family would have looked a lot more like this......

Today I am thanking God for answering these prayers by leaving them unanswered.

Instead I look like this........

This is who I married........

I enjoy my career as a "Full Time Mom/Part Time Bible Teacher"......

And instead of: Brooke, Brad, David, Doug, Natalie, Matt, Sandy, Chris, Corrie, Carrie, Scott, Teresa, Joey and Chrissy, God has blessed me with this bunch of gorgeous offspring.......

I think this song by Garth Brooks sums it up best, some of God's greatest gifts are "Unanswered Prayers"!

Enjoy your Saturday and be sure to visit Amy at Signs, Miracles and Wonders for more music that will make your soul sing!

Oh this is such a great post - I love the way you introduced the video! Yes, thank God for some unanswered prayers :)

You're so right. This post really made me think about my own selfishness and my own outrageous desires that I've prayed for over the years while laughing at your unanswered prayers. Our father in heaven really does look out for our own best interests by giving us what is better and more suitable for us than what we want. I would have been a very young widow if I got my wish to marry Heath Ledger!

Loved how you introduced your video! Yes thank you God for unanswered prayers! God know what is best for us even when we do not.

Love the song!

I'm not a country music fan but I have always like that. In hindsight, unanswered prayers are deep blessings.

So, so true!! Loved the post and the song! I shudder to think how my life would have been if I'd gotten some of the things I had prayed for!

I love your post. What a great way to illustrate God's plan and purpose for our lives. And to use this song is a great idea.
I think that God can use music and even books and movies to help us illustrate his love with others.
Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sherry

What a great reminder to be content with who God made me and to always give thanks for the life and family he has given me!

Thanks Kelley!

I LOVE that song so much! I bet you're glad you didn't marry Leif Garrett. I'm not sure what the outcome of some of my prayers might have been but I am thankful for God's "NO" as much as his "YES".

I love that song. And I love who you have become...exactly who God has created you to be!

I used to love the name Corrie, too...I think it was from reading The Hiding Place. :)

Kelley, this is great!! Not sure if I could hang with a Cher look alike!!
You are beautiful inside and out my dear friend. This was a great post about realizing that God's dreams for our lives are just not even close to ours and He just knows what's best.
Love ya,
Lelia

Wow...so well said! Isn't this the truth!? Praise God He doesn't always give us what we want, but rather what we NEED. That's worthy of some serious praise! Thanks for this great reminder!

What a great post! God truly does know how to answer our prayers. Great intro for the song. I love that song. I think about some of my "unanswered" prayers and realize that God has worked miracles out of those pitiful prayers.

This touched my heart. (I am going to copy this idea on my blog) ;)
I praise Him so many times for "unanswered" prayers. However, I do believe now He answered those prayers, just w/ His answer, not mine! How many times have I looked back and and saw selfish motives behind my prayers... but learned that He worked out all of it for good!

Praising Him for the gifts He gave you and the prayers of yours that He gave His answers!

Yes I am thanking God for this too. Thank God for his fore site. If I had gotten what I thought I wanted back then I would of totally been up the creek without a paddle.

PS I wanted to Marry Tony Difranco from the Difranco Family.

I tagged you for a little meme if you want to play.

I thank God every day that I did not get to marry my "crush"....Scott Baio. Ugh!:)

And Matthew would have hated the name Amanda Joe.:)

Not to mention after seeing Top Gun, I was just sure that I was fighter pilot material.:)

This was a great post, Kelley!
Going back in time in our thoughts is always a good laugh.:)

And makes me a very thankful girl!

God Bless,
Amy:)
