It's Been Awhile.....

Here is a question for you; If I haven't blogged in over 6 weeks do I still have a place in blog world?

I suppose that would depend on why I blog in the first place. HMMM? Now that is something to ponder...

--I blog in order to stay connected with friends and family and to keep them updated on what is happening in the life of my family.

--I blog to meet new women and make new friends.

--I blog because I enjoy writing and this is a place where I can build and sharpen my writing skills.

--I blog so that I can record and remember events in my life and the lessons I am learning from them.

--I blog because, as I have often said, "one of my 'spiritual gifts' is sharing the drama from my own life in order to make others feel better about what they are dealing with!" LOL!!

So I guess with all of that said I need to assume there is still a place for me in blog world. In fact I think I have a new theme song..... "It's my blog and I'll blog if I want to.....You would blog too if it happened to you!"

Seriously though, I don't know exactly why I have avoided looking at my blog for the past few weeks. I HATE excuses but in order to understand how I can avoid "blogging breaks" in the future it would be good to know what caused this one. Here are a few reasons I have come up with along with their solutions:

1) I intensly dislike the Christmas design of my blog. The green is just "too much"!
I am working on a new design, the sooner the better....

2) My laptop became very "high maintenance"! The cable for the battery charger had to be held in place and this resulted in "one handed" typing!
Guess what my hubby got me for Christmas!! I love him!

3) The holidays distracted me! (Shopping, cooking, cleaning, wrapping, laundry...)
OVER!!!

4) I feel guilty for not getting to "pay back" visits to my blogging friends!
I promise to visit when I can....in the meantime, please don't think me rude!

5) My brain wouldn't cooperate leading to a case of "blogger's block"!
Thinking, thinking, thinking....

6) Medical issues with my husband, daughter and dog!
CURED!

7) A vacation in the middle of the holiday season!
Home again!

8) A death in the family!
More on that later.

9) Exhaustion (or laziness, depending on how you define it).
This is just part of getting old I'm afraid. (lol)

10) I have way too many children!
It's too late to do anything about that now!

I have to say it feels awfully good to finish a post (lame as it may be) and hit the "publish" button. Thanks for not giving up on me completely, I love it in blog land and I hope there will always be a place for me here!

See you all soon (I promise)....

I'm glad to 'see' you back blogging once again. I wondered where you were. I love all of your blog designs.

I see my blog as a ministry. It's not my full time job; I have another. But I have a passion for sharing what I've learned with others. And I have a heart for people who haven't yet become believers. So, my prayer is to be salt and light to all who come in contact with me or my blog.

I love the saying that says something like "bloom where the Lord has planted you". So ...keep blooming Kelley!

Do your remember that post you wrote about the garbage bags? You'll never know how MANY times, I've thought of that lately. AND... thee other day, I JOGGED; all the way to my mailbox (it's a long ways really*) and I said OUTLOUD; IF KELLEY COULD SEE ME NOW!!!
You've made such an impact on my life in more ways than you'll ever ever know.
Just want ya to know how good it is to read you again.
Holykisses Kelley!

I'm glad to see you are back. I was worried. I have had this same thing happen to me a few years ago and it just kind of snowballs. Anyway I am sure your place is secure here in blogland.

As Kermit the Frog would sing, "It's not easy being green", but I love the colour Kelley! However, I look forward to seeing your new creativity too.

It's funny, when my son was younger and I would sometimes have to phone the school to report his absence for whatever reason - an appointment, music exam, illness etc...I always felt I had to make my case and justify why I was keeping him home or pulling him out of class. My sister, who worked for the school board would laugh at me and say, 'Joy, you don't have to give a reason. Just tell them he won't be there.'

My friend, no reason needed. Just glad to know you're out there. You are loved and prayed for even in...or especially in your silence.

Love, prayers and hugs,
Joy

I'm so glad you are back. I kept checking in. I didn't blog much over Nov. or Dec. either. Spencer's having a ton of seizures and has been in the hospital twice. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and blog more in the new year too. Hope the family is well.

I myself have been a stranger to the blog world as well so I can understand where you're coming from. As for why I haven't blogged in over a month....unfortunately I can't use too many of the reasons that you listed other than a case of "blogger's block" with a touch of lack of motivation! Can I use the excuse that I've been out shoveling lots of snow over the last few weeks??? That's pretty lame so I guess I won't try to blame Mother Nature for my disappearance from the blog world! I need to get back in the proverbial saddle and get at least 1 post for 2009 before February!!!!!

I've checked on you from time to time and noticed your absence. I understand the many dynamics that have been working behind "your scenes" that have led to your pause. See, we're still here, loving you and glad for your return.

Looking forward to your thoughts as they unpack and unfold in your heart and through your pen.

Just now reading this. I'm tired just reading your list. At least there's an answer or resolution already in place.

Nope, you are on my blog list roll, so regardless how long you are gone, you'll always pop up to the top when you post. There's no forgettin' ya!

Except for #6, 8 and 10, we had a pretty parallel December! I took more of a break than I planned too; I couldn't justify spending time on the blog when I wasn't getting done so many other things. (How bad would it be to send the rest of our Christmas cards out with a Happy MLK Day written on the envelope?)

Anyway, I'm glad you're back. Now that I'm back wandering the blogosphere myself I was thinking about dropping you a "Miss you, hope everything's ok" note. I'll be looking forward to 'catching up.'

(And I like the green!)

Just getting caught up! No matter why you were away, you were MISSED, and a great big WELCOME back is in order.

Hey, I thought your design was beautiful, just like you!

I'll look forward to many more of your great adventures!!

Blessings my sweet friend♥
