Playing in the Past.......

Some people are just too much fun!

It truly isn't fair to the rest of us that they got all the "fun genes!" Linda at 2nd Cup is one of those people whose blog is like going to party every time I visit. Last week she introduced a site where you can "Yearbook Yourself" and see how you might have looked in the past.

Well this kind of thing is right up my alley so I have been having lots of fun "yearbooking" myself and my husband.

Remember, this is the "real" us......

But here is what my honey and I might have looked like in 1964.....

This could have been us in 1976...

And the early 80's might have found us like this.....

As I was "playing around with different "yearbook" looks I was puzzled by my 1952 picture. I thought, "Gee, that looks familiar to me".... And then it hit me, I have a picture of my Grandmother that looks very much like that!

She died when my Dad was 12 so I never knew her but I remember my Grandpa always telling me how much I look like her. I have always wished I could have known more about her but all I know is that she died young (under 40) of breast cancer. She had 3 sons and it was very hard on all of them after she died.

I pray that somehow she knows that she now has 2 granddaughters, 3 great-grandsons, 7 great-granddaughters and that one of them is named after her.

So here is the picture of how I might have looked in 1952 alongside the picture of my Grandmother Cecelia. It may not be an exact match but I can finally see the resemblance my Grandpa told me about!

If you enjoy this kind of fun then I encourage you to click here and Yearbook yourself too! Let me know if you do, I would love to check out how you might have looked in the past!

That's hilarious. I did it, but I'm not as adept at putting all of the pics on my blog as you. So..., you'll just have to wonder.

Thanks for the laughs this morning! (about my pictures, mostly, not yours).

This is so fun. I did it too (after 2nd Cup did) but mine weren't as cute. I did another of these things were you upload your photo and tells you what celebs you look like. I looked most like Katie Couric (so it thought).

Fun stuff! Oh, I can't believe your husband let you post those! I stuck Jorge's face into one or two, too, but I didn't dare post those! Yes, I can see your family resemblance to your grandmother. You know, it's funny, but I get way more comments on posts like this than serious ones. ?

The resemblence of you and your grandmother is striking!

What a fun...and beautiful post!

Take care and have a great weekend!

If you get a chance, stop by my place, I've got a giveaway ending tonight for a cute fall ribbon garland I think you would enjoy.

How fun is that! There definitely is a resemblance there. I will have to check that out. I'm kind of nervous though, sometimes stuff like that creeps me out.

Linda's blog is a hoot. Never know what you'll get upon arrival. Maybe a lesson in shelling boiled eggs. ha!

That is very spooky about your gramma's pic and your yearbook pic. Wow!!

Have a good weekend.

How fun! You are absolutely beautiful no matter what the time frame! What a sweet way God brought your grandmother to your thoughts today. She'd be happy about all of the great things her granddaughter is doing for the kindgom! I'm scared to do this, I must admit! But, if you were brave enough, I can do it too!
Much love,
Angie xoxo

p.s. I love Linda's blog, too!

What a fun idea! I wish I had a job dreaming up zany ideas! Who knew that such a funky photo swap would give you insight into your own family tree. It really is an unexpected treat.

If I did that, I'd probably suffer from nightmares. :) Speaking of fashions, how about them '80s? Did women really wear their hair that way? YOWZA Worse. Did I??

You are fun, too! I love reading your blog. It's encouraging and it's full of your honest heart for GOD - but it's "decorated" by you beautifully.

I did the yearbook thing as well. My daughter sent it to me and we laughed forever.

Thank you for actually being an "Aroma of Joy"!

Blessings,
Teri
p.s. You and your grandmother are elegant and classically beautiful

Kelley,

Hello, my FRIEND! It has been WAY TOO LONG since I've checked in with all of you. I'm truly ashamed that I've not done a better job of checking in. I've MISSED YOU! O:-) I'm going to TRY to start posting more often.. there is SURELY some middle ground. ;-)

Now, about your photo. I was BLOWN AWAY by the resemblance between YOU and your grandma! WOW!! (She's a beautiful lady - I can see where you get your looks from)A friend told me about that site last week. I tried it a few times.. I must've been doing something wrong because I was getting African American styles. (Nothing wrong with that, just that it was COMPLETELY different than the ones you've posted) It was a BLAST trying it out! ;-)

Okay, now how did you go and get so smart as to keep redecorating your blog all by yourself? Did you take PhotoShop classes? (Your blog looks AMAZING!) I've just asked Jennisa to make me over for Fall. Hopefully I'll be sporting a new look soon. (I'm hoping the fresh new colors will be a little more motivating)

Okay, I didn't mean to write a book.. I won't keep you.

Thanks for sharing the FUN post! Your blog is ALWAYS AMAZING!

LOVE YOU!
